Laois chairman Gerry Kavanagh believes that there is a 'lack of logic' to the decision to play the Leinster SFC quarterfinal between themselves or Wicklow against Dublin in Nowlan Park.

The O'Moore County feel they are well equipped to host the game in their own grounds at Portlaoise, should they get over Wicklow in the provisional round. The decision was made to remove the Dubs from Croke Park for their opening championship match.

But despite, Dublin having to travel, Laois were left bemused by Leinster Council's decision to schedule the match for Kilkenny's Nowlan Park.

Speaking to the Leinster Express, Laois chairman Gerry Kavanagh stated that there is no reason why the game couldn't have been played in O'Moore Park.

"We feel there is a lack of logic to the decision," said Kavanagh. "We feel the county have been slighted, to put it mildly, the supporters have been slighted and the commercial side of the town has been slighted as well."

Even if Wicklow were to win against Laois and face the Dubs, the Laois County Board were still confident that the quarterfinal would be played in O'Moore Park.
