Laois chairman Gerry Kavanagh is confident that Leinster Council will make the right call tonight and fix a potential Leinster SFC quarter-final against Dublin for Portlaoise.

It's decision time regarding next summer's fixtures schedule and, at this stage, it looks as though the winners of Laois and Wicklow will be asked to play the Leinster and All-Ireland champions in Nowlan Park which boasts 17,734 seats compared to O'Moore Park's 6,000 seats.

"People say the GAA are slow to change and they are cumbersome some of the time, but I would say 99.9 per cent of the time the GAA get all the big calls right," Kavanagh outlined to The Irish Daily Star.

"It's difficult for me and my county to deal with because we haven't earned the right to play Dublin. Not for one minute would we be disrespectful to our opponents, Wicklow.

"If Laois were lucky enough to qualify to play Dublin the right thing to do is to play the match at O'Moore Park. We are at a loss as to why it couldn't be played in Portlaoise.

"The irony of all this is Dublin will have no quibbles. All they'll want to know is when and where is it on.

"Their bus will pull into town and they will do the job. That's the way they are, excellent champions they are."
