Next Laois appointment crucial - Kingston

Donie Kingston believes the next Laois manager could make or break his intercounty career.

As O'Moore County chiefs weigh up their options in appointing a successor to Tomas O Flatharta, attacking ace Kingston stresses the need to get the right man - be that from within or outside the county:

"There's a few of us kind of at the stage now where if we're going to do anything it's going to be in the next two or three years," the Arles-Killeen clubman told The Irish Independent.

"This is an important time of our career, we're hitting that age now that you either do it or not, so the next man's going to be very important.

"I haven't heard a whole pile about it now but I'm sure they're on the lookout anyway. I'd say they'd have to have a fair idea of who they're going to get with the club championship on at the moment.

"Both can work. We've had outside men before who have worked, we've had Laois men who have worked before, so whoever we get we're just going to have to row in behind him anyway."
