After a fascinating final day across the four divisions of this year's football leagues, we select our team of the week ...

1. Stephen Cluxton (Dublin)

The Dublin custodian and his team-mates issued a statement of intent in Clones when inflicting an 11-point defeat on Monaghan.

2. Paul Murphy (Kerry)

All Star Murphy was one of the Kingdom's better performers as they avoided the drop thanks to their draw against Tyrone in Omagh.

3. Rory O'Carroll (Dublin)

The no-nonsense Dublin full-back played a key role in holding Monaghan scoreless for 24 minutes of the second-half.

4. Donnacha Tobin (Meath)

The tight-marking Royal defender successfully curbed the influence of Cavan's Martin Dunne in Pairc Tailteann.

5. Darren O'Hagan (Down)

O'Hagan impressed on his return to the starting 15 as Down guaranteed promotion to Division 1 courtesy of a three-point victory over Laois on home soil.

6. Brendan Egan (Sligo)

Arguably the surprise result of the weekend, Egan was one of the stars of Sligo's 11-point defeat of Armagh in Markievicz Park.

7. Jack McCaffrey (Dublin)

Along with James McCarthy on the opposite wing, McCaffrey's frequent raids into enemy territory caused panic in the Monaghan rearguard.

8. Barry Moran (Mayo)

A late call up for Tom Parsons, Moran put on an exhibition of high fielding in MacHale Park and also kicked three points for good measure.

9. Conor Daly (Roscommon)

Roscommon football is on an upward curve and Daly was very much to the fore as John Evans' side got the win they needed at Westmeath's expense.

10. Martin Reilly (Cavan)

The end result in Navan was immaterial as events panned out but Cavan fans will have been pleased with the effort of their industrious half-forward.

11. Shane Walsh (Galway)

Walsh was on target with 2-1 from play as Galway consigned Kildare to a second successive relegation.

12. Enda Lynn (Derry)

Derry bowed out on a high with a 2-15 to 1-11 success against Cork and Lynn's return of 2-3 was a vital ingredient in their winning formula.

13. Darren McCurry (Tyrone)

McCurry was a constant thorn in the side of the Kerry defence but his efforts proved to be in vain as the Red Hands failed to avoid the relegation trapdoor.

14. Paddy McBrearty (Donegal)

The 21-year-old escaped the close attentions of Keith Higgins to register 1-3 (1-2 from play) against Mayo in Castlebar.

15. Bernard Allen (Offaly)

Offaly will ply their trade in Division 3 next year as six points (three from play) from Allen boosted Pat Flanagan's charges to a six-point win over Antrim.
