If the bookies are anything to go by, Sunday's opening NFL Division Two clash between Westmeath and Laois at Cusack Park, Mullingar is already a relegation battle.
Both sides are tipped for the drop with Westmeath who played in Division One favourites to be relegated at 5/6, while Laois are second favourites at 5/4, according to Boylesports.
The O'Moore County have been given odds of 11/1 to win the division and although that will be a tough ask, Tomas O'Flatharta and co will be hoping to make a mockery of the relegation odds.
Kildare are 10/3 favourites, while Galway, Down and Meath are their nearest challengers for the title.
