TG4 Leinster Senior Final 2014
Sunday 13th July 2014
Dublin v Laois, 3pm
O'Moore Park, Portlaoise

This Sunday Dublin and Laois will go head to head the prize at stake is a much coveted Leinster Senior title along with a place in the TG4 All Ireland quarter final.

Between them these two footballing giants of the LGFA have won a staggering 21Provincial crowns.
Laois led the way with 12 titles having won their first Provincial crown back in 1985 while winning their last just three years ago in 2011.

2002 was the year that Dublin made the breakthrough at senior level winning their first Leinster crown since then the girls from the Capital have been crowned Provincial champions on nine occasions.

On Sunday Dublin will be aiming for three in a row having won the Mary Ramsbottom Memorial Cup in 2012 and in 2013.

Incidentally should Dublin defeat Laois on Sunday that win will secure a clean sweep of Leinster titles for the Metropolitans having lifted the title at U14, U16 and Minor grades earlier this season.

Dublin will go into Sunday's game as firm favourites having won six out of seven of their last encounters with the O'Moore County. Their last championship clash was back in 2012 when under then Manager Peter Clarke, Dublin defeated Laois on the score line of 2-11 to 1-11.

Traditionally Dublin and Laois games have been close hard fought encounters with the winning margin in recent games averaging out around four points.

Dublin boss, Gregory McGonigle will name his team this evening following their final training session before Sunday's trip to Portlaoise.

The Derry native is sure to have a couple of dilemmas when it comes to picking his starting fifteen as team Captain Sinead Goldrick along with former All Star, Denise Masterson and the LGFA Player of the Month for June, Nicole Owens have all resumed full training following recent injury concerns.

Will McGonigle show faith in the line out that has notched up a remarkable tally of 13-32 en route to the Provincial decider or will he make room for the return of his aforementioned stars?

All will be revealed at 8pm tonight when the team will be announced on www.dublinladiesgaelic.ie
