Laois manager Seamus Plunkett believes that it is important to build on this year's performances.

The O'Moore County have come some way over the past few years to restoring pride in the jersey. Their year came to an end last Saturday when Waterford defeated them in the qualifiers.

However, Plunkett stressed to the Leinster Express that there were many positives to take from the campaign and he added that it was important use these positives as they continue building for the future.

"I've said it before, considering the journey this team have been on, to come in here to Walsh Park and be able to run Waterford pretty close in the second half and a have a bit of a go at it, we'll just work on the positives out of that.

"There is an incredible, committed bunch of Laois players there who are committed to doing well and it's important now that everyone picks it up from here." Tweet
