After their Leinster SHC semi-final heroics, five Kilkenny players are included in our hurling team of the week.

1. Chris O'Connell (Antrim)

The Saffrons' 'keeper pulled off a number of fine saves against the Faithful County but was kicking himself after failing to deal with Brian Carroll's injury-time long range free.

2. Fergal Moore (Galway)

The experienced Moore battled hard but the Tribesmen played second fiddle to the Cats on this occasion.

3. JJ Delaney (Kilkenny)

The non-nonsense Kilkenny number three was at his most commanding best.

4. Jackie Tyrell (Kilkenny)

Looked far more comfortable in the familiar surroundings of the full-back line and was at his imperious best.

5. Darragh Fives (Waterford)

The Waterford half-back line laid the foundations for their side's 10-point victory.

6. Michael Walsh (Waterford)

Manager Derek McGrath singled out 'Brick' for special mention following their Walsh Park success.

7. Cillian Buckley (Kilkenny)

Kilkenny's replay success was built on strong foundations at the back and Buckley was successful in frustrating the Tribesmen on a number of occasions.

8. Kevin Moran (Waterford)

Midfielder Moran was another player who rose to the challenge issued by manager Derek McGrath as the Deise got their championship campaign back on track.

9. Richie Hogan (Kilkenny)

The Danesfort ace is in the form of life and Brian Cody will be hoping for more of the same next Sunday as they attempt to dethrone Leinster champions Dublin.

10. Conor Cooney (Galway)

Cooney finished as his side's top scorer with 12 points, including three from general play, but it was to no avail as they finished on the wrong end of the 3-19 to 1-17 scoreline.

11. Willie Hyland (Laois)

Five points from play illustrated the skill of the O'Moore County's centre-forward.

12. TJ Reid (Kilkenny)

No need to elaborate as a return of 2-11 makes Reid an automatic inclusion in our team.

13. PJ O'Connell (Antrim)

Antrim and O'Connell - who scored 1-2 - took the fight to Offaly but they were caught at the death.

14. Shane Walsh (Waterford)

Laois struggled to cope with the Waterford full-forward who bagged 2-1 for the hosts.

15. Joe Bergin (Offaly)

Bergin was a constant thorn in the side of the Antrim defence and finished the 70 minutes with five points to his name.
