Rigney: We have everything to lose
July 03, 2009
Laois hurling boss Niall Rigney has cited Antrim as clear favourites for this Saturday's All-Ireland clash at Portlaoise.
The O'Moore hurlers took a drubbing from Galway in their last competitive outing, but Rigney believes his side have improved since last month's defeat to face the Ulster champions this weekend
"Antrim are the favourites, there's no doubt about that, but I'm not going to say that we have nothing to lose going out, we have everything to lose," said Rigney.
"We were sluggish against them in the league but we have trained well since the Galway game, and I'd like to think we have improved since the league game."
Now, the Laois manager has called on all hurling supporters in the county to turn out at O'Moore Park and support their team.
"The support will be our sixteenth man, and I would plead with the supporters to come out for the game. The lads have put in a huge effort since the Galway game," he added.
