Video - GAA history in California

A little bit of GAA history was made in southern California at the weekend when a novel exhibition game was played between North America and Ireland at the West Coast Sevens in San Diego.

The Co-ed teams were selected based on three factors - attitude, sportsmanship and playing ability, and they included two players from each club taking part in the Sevens.

'It was an honour to get picked to play for my country', says Mayo-born Grainne Conway from the San Diego Na Fianna club, while Canadian Karissa McKenna from the Calgary Chieftains is new to Gaelic games and describes the experience as 'fantastic'.

The teams wore specially-designed O'Neills jerseys and were sponsored by GAA Go and State Farm. Video by Jerome Quinn for San Diego GAA.
