FT Score Mayo 2-09 Dublin 2-07

For the second year in a row Mayo, inspired by Cora Staunton, have gotten the better of Dublin in the Lidl Ladies NFL.

                                                                                                                                                            

Today's encounter was a closer contest than last year's clash with just two points separating the sides at the final whistle.

Although, Dublin outscored their opponents in the second half by 2-3 to 1-03 Mayo's first half performance gave the westerners a five point lead at the break.

Cora Staunton once again was the key figure for Mayo scoring 1-09 of their total tally of 2-09 with Grace Kelly scoring Mayo's second goal.

Two second half goals scored within two minutes of each other by Sinead Aherne and Noelle Healy set up a tense exciting finish to the game. But it was to be Mayo's day as Frank Browne's charges held on to register another famous league victory over Dublin. 

Next Sunday Dublin head north for a 3rd round clash with Monaghan who today lost to Galway by 3-13 to 2-09
