Briege Corkery was euphoric after she and Rena Buckley became the first players in GAA history to pocket 16 All-Ireland senior medals.

The Cork dual stars surpassed Dublin camogie legend Kathleen Mills' record haul of 15 All-Ireland medals when they helped the Rebelettes to their fifth consecutive Brendan Martin Cup triumph at Dublin's expense yesterday. They have now won 16 All-Ireland senior medals between ladies football and camogie.

"It was an incredibly tough game. I think it was a very defensive game all round, they funnelled back, we funnelled back. It was just so tight," dairy farmer Corkery told RTE.

"Dublin are a great team. Words can't describe the feeling we have. Last July we were in a bit of disarray and we just pulled it out of the bag by coming back together and telling each other to work hard.

"Myself and Rena [Buckley] are so lucky that we've come up with a bunch of girls that want the same things as us and that's to play hard, win hard and party hard!"
