Ladies football star Valerie Mulcahy married her long-term girlfriend Meg Blyth on Friday.
The wedding came just a month after Ireland voted in favour of same-sex marriage. The pair, who have been together for more than six years, walked up the aisle at Camden Fort Meagher in Crosshaven, Co. Cork.
Valerie, who is the holder of nine All-Ireland medals and is one of the biggest names in ladies football, exchanged vows with the choreographer in an intimate ceremony attended by family and friends.
The couple got engaged last year, but only decided to go ahead with their wedding after the same-sex marriage referendum passed.
Both the GPA and the LGFA had called for a 'Yes' vote in the lead-up to the referendum.
