Canadian gold mining firm Dalradian Gold have thrown their weight behind the Tyrone ladies GFA with the announcement this week of a sponsorship package for the County under 16s who remain on course to strike gold themselves in the Ulster championship.

Confirming the deal at their Gortin base, Dalradian Gold managing director Brian Kelly said that the companies' support of the Tyrone Ladies is part of their commitment to the local area and the fact six local girls from Greencastle, Plumbridge and Gortin are part of this year's squad also played a factor in the company supporting the County minors this year.

Dalradian Gold are one of twelve gold mining companies that continue to operate in the world market, there was upwards on 200 five years ago! They are currently in the process of developing their mine at Gortin, during 2015, work on site will concentrate on the underground exploration program which includes extending the exploration tunnel by approximately 1,100 metres in order to access, define, sample and test the mineralized material from the Curraghinalt deposit.

Dr Anne Monaghan, the director of stakeholder engagement was on hand to hand over the new kit, once again produced by O'Neill International sportswear, she wished the side well

" We at Dalradian are delighted to be supporting the girls and we are committed to this community and County, we are creating jobs here and continually engage with the community, it is important to keep everyone in the loop"
Tyrone chairman Martin Conway was joined by two locally based players on the squad Aimee Daly and Bronagh Mossey at the handover of the sponsorship this week. The deal between Dalradian Gold is initially for one year.
Dernaseer Engineering based near Dungannon have also committed to under 16 sponsorship for a third year and under the guidance of managing director Declan McKenna they are also the main sponsor of the County minor squad. North West based Quarryking are also on board as sponsors for the minors who remain well placed for an Ulster final.

"We are indebted to Dalradian Gold who have come on board as the sponsor of our County under 16 squad this year, their commitment is wonderful, we thank managing director Brian Kelly and Dr Anne Monaghan for the support and I thank Vice County Chair Patsy McCrory for his help in securing the deal.
