Kildare's ladies footballers are on the look-out for a new manager as Alan Barry has decided to bow out on a high.

The Sarsfields clubman has stepped down after guiding the Lilywhites to Leinster and All-Ireland Intermediate glory.

Chairman of Kildare LGFA, Michael Smyth paid tribute to the departing manager in a statement: "We as a county from the very bottom of our hearts wish to thank Alan for his commitment to our senior team and steering them to winning the All Ireland Intermediate title.

"Alan left no stone unturned this year for our Ladies team. He brought a new level of professionalism to our organisation.

"We have gained a new friend in Alan and we wish him and his family the very best for the future."
