Kerry chairman Tim Murphy has revealed that the county is taking measures to ensure they don't lose their best young footballers to Aussie Rules.

David Clifford is sure to become an even bigger target for AFL clubs after he scored 1-10 in a breathtaking display against Cavan in yesterday's All-Ireland minor football semi-final. But the Kingdom are determined to hold on to him and their other brightest prospects by providing an incentive for them to remain at home.

"We have a small sub-committee in place, five people which won't be fully formalised until after the All-Ireland minor final, but there is a lot of work going on in the background by influential people within the county - past and present players that are interacting with young talents we could conceivably lose," Murphy explained to the Irish Examiner.

"We are also putting time into another commercial group that would be able to advise our future stars how they can maximum their profile as GAA players here.

"At least give them the option of what they are leaving behind, if they were thinking of leaving."
