Tommy Walsh is set to quit the Kerry senor football panel, according to a report in today's Irish Examiner.

The Kerins O'Rahilly star was an unused substitute in the Kingdom's National League final defeat to Dublin last Sunday, continuing the trend which saw him confined to the bench by manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice for much of the league campaign, having only made two starts throughout.

Walsh, who returned home from Australia ahead of the 2015 season, was also an unused sub in that year's All-Ireland SFC final and the feeling is that Sunday's latest non-involvement against the Dubs could be the last straw.

Fitzmaurice has given his squad a week-long break this week ahead of preparations for the first round of their Munster SFC title defence in June against Clare or Limerick.
