Westmeath manager Michael Ryan admits that Sunday's clash against Limerick is the type of game his charges want to be involved in.

The sides meet at Cusack Park, Mullingar in the All-Ireland SHC qualifiers and Ryan admitted to the Westmeath Examiner that playing the likes of Limerick is something that the players relish.

"We are very much looking forward to a home game against a side who could well have beaten Kilkenny last year in the All-Ireland semi-final," said Ryan.

"These are the games we want to be playing in, when you think that this time last year the lads were trying to avoid relegation to the Christy Ring Cup. We have trained very well and we are hoping to get stuck into the game straight away. We probably showed Wexford too much respect at the start the last day."

Westmeath have a few injury concerns ahead of the match as Eoin Price and Niall Dowdall are definitely out, while Joe Clarke and Gary Greville are both struggling to overcome knocks.
