The untimely passing of Michael Galvin has caused widespread shock in Sligo GAA circles.

Originally from Carraroe, the father of three is a former manager of the Yeats County senior hurling team.

The Galvin's are a well-known GAA family and Michael's father is currently the caretaker at Markievicz Park.

Funeral arrangements: Remains reposing at his home this evening from 5pm to 10pm and on Saturday from 12 noon to 5pm with removal to St Clares Church, Manorhamilton to arrive for 9pm.

Funeral mass on Sunday at 11:30 am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
