Galway manager Anthony Cunningham believes that they have a score to settle with Dublin.

The sides meet in the Leinster SHC quarterfinal at Croke Park this Sunday, their first meeting since the provincial decider in 2013.

On that occasion, Dublin inflicted a 2-25 to 2-13 drubbing to the Tribesmen and Cunningham admitted to the Connacht Tribune that defeat still rankles with them.

"I think it (revenge) is a motivating factor but there are always motivating factors," stated Cunningham. "For instance, we would also have been extremely disappointed with the way we finished up in the league, having played well in a lot of matches.

"That said, we definitely have a score to settle with Dublin for two years ago, to be sure. We desperately want to win this match. I think it is of huge significance and I think it is even a bigger match that the Munster first round last weekend."

If Galway are to win, they will have to do so without a number of key players as their injury list includes the likes of Conor Cooney, Daithi Burke, David Burke and Niall Burke. However, Joe Canning is expected to play having recovered from a hand injury.
