Clubs in Westmeath have been told to stay off the pitch at half-time in Cusack Park and at all club grounds in the county in future.

The health and safety notice has been issued following an 'incident' which happened at Cusack Park during one of last weekend's senior hurling championship double-headers.

The Westmeath county board message read: "In the interest of health and safety, and following an incident in Cusack Park over the weekend, we are advising clubs that there will be nobody (adults or children) allowed onto the pitch during the half-time intervals of matches.

"Please circulate this info within your clubs, also the same should apply to all club grounds."
