Waterford manager Derek McGrath is delighted to have an extra competitive game ahead of the Munster championship.

The Decies are through to the NHL Division 1 semi-finals following their impressive quarterfinal win over Galway last weekend.

McGrath admits that anything from here is bonus territory as they prepare to face Tipperary in the semi-final.

"It's massive simulation for June 7th," McGrath told the Waterford News & Star. "Even in terms of the whole experience.

"It's a great preparation for June 7th because you'd be acutely aware that that's what you'd be judged on. Irrespective of the league semi-final and June 7th, we just feel we're progressing nicely."
