Clare selector Louis Mulqueen admits that the next two NHL games are massive for them.

With no points from their opening two matches, Clare are already looking at a relegation dogfight and this Sunday they meet old rivals Tipperary.

The following Saturday, Dublin come to Cusack Park, Ennis and by then the Banner should have a firm idea of where they will be playing their league hurling next year.

Speaking to the Clare Champion, Mulqueen said: "The next six days are very important for us with two big games in that time.

"You could have four teams on two points each come Sunday evening depending on results. If Tipperary win, it puts us in a deeper position with no points. It is a hugely important game for us.

"There is intense rivalry between Clare and Tipperary and this rivalry, together with the importance of the tie, should ensure a big attendance and a great game."
