Ardrahan look set to be without Iarla Tannian for Sunday's much-delayed Galway SHC quarter-final against Beagh in Athenry after the county star underwent surgery to repair a finger injury earlier this week.

Tannian suffered the injury while playing for Medtronic in an inter-firms game and his likely absence is a huge blow to Ardrahan, who only discovered on Monday night that the quarter-final was going ahead this weekend after the impasse over an alleged illegal player used by Turloughmore in a group game against Beagh finally came to an end.

The winners of Sunday's game will face Gort in the semi-final, with reigning county and All-Ireland champions Portumna awaiting the winners of that clash in the final, which is slated for December 14.
