The Cork County Board should waste no time in extending Jimmy Barry-Murphy's tenure as senior hurling manager according to Ger Cunningham.
Cunningham - who was a member of JBM's backroom team up until this year - insists his former team-mate is still the right man for the job despite last Sunday's harrowing All-Ireland SHC semi-final defeat to Tipperary.
"Jimmy's record in the last three years since he's taken over - league finals, Munster finals, All-Ireland finals - we hadn't been competing in that situation before he took over," the ex-goalkeeper pointed out to the Examiner.
"His record has been fantastic since he took over."
