Dublin City University teams will carry the AIB logo.

Allied Irish Bank has announced a new partnership with Dublin City University to sponsor Hurling, Camogie and Handball at the university and all three codes will now carry the AIB logo.  The sponsorship will go directly to providing player-centred scholarship supports including nutrition, sports science and medicine, academic support, personal development, accommodation and access to the university's top sporting facilities.

This collaboration with DCU reflects AIB's commitment to supporting GAA in communities throughout Ireland.

David Hammond, Head of Personal Banking AIB said "this announcement demonstrates AIB's continued commitment to Third Level and also links with our wider GAA Sponsorships.  Des O'Brien, AIB Santry Branch Manager added "through this Sponsorship we will be able to support the further development of Hurling Camogie and Handball in DCU".

DCU provides key supports to a large number of elite athletes each year, including established inter-county players from the three different codes such as Richie Hogan (Kilkenny), Padraig Breheny (Galway), Lisa Carey (Kilkenny), Terry McElvaney and Cian O'Dalaigh (Dublin).  DCU ensures that students achieve both their academic and athletic goals through high-level coaching, state-of-the-art facilities and course flexibility.

Paul O'Brien, Hurling Officer at DCU welcomed the announcement, saying,

"The funding we receive from AIB is critical to the development and overall success of our GAA sporting community within DCU.  It will greatly help in providing an environment that enables elite sportspeople to pursue their sporting interests while maximising their academic achievements in a best-practice, high-performance setting."
