I see Aidan Forker got sent off after 50 seconds today and its being talked about as a record...I think I remember Armagh (ironically) playing I think it was Donegal many many years ago..Ime going to say late 1980's maybe and a sub by the name of Toye comming on for Armagh and got sent off after 20 seconds I think..it was instant almost...anyone remember the incident or the year..its not Christy Toye now that played for Donegal..this fellah was Toye and played around late 80's or so for Armagh....

It should have been C Whelan against Meath back in the mid 00's

I'm not quite sure but I remember Ciaran Whelan SHOULD have been sent off after 5 seconds V Meath last decade sometime. The ref bottled it bigtime that day :D

Another SHOULD here... but was it Alan O'Connor that decked a Kerry bloke from the throw in in the 09 AI final

Cavan played Armagh in the mid 00s in Clones.

Pierce Mckenna was sent off very early that day.

I remember the whelan incident. Clear as day punch on Nigel Crawford wasn't it. .3 certainties in life - death, taxes and controversial refereeing decisions favouring Dublin ;)

Donegal v Down in the first round of Ulster in 96, John Haran got sent off for hitting a lad a belt pretty much as the ball was thrown in. A bit like CIaran Whelan except the referee did his job.

Mind might be deceiving me but when Donegal played Down in the Ulster Championship in 1996, i think we had a man sent off pretty much immediately after throw in.

Tadhg Kennelly on Nicholas Murphy was another one missed.

Seanie Tobin came on as a sub and got sent off against Clare in the munster semi final in 14 before the game was restarted. So technically he was sent off after zero seconds.

Last year Shane Dowling was sent off for Limerick against Offaly in a league game in the Gaelic Grounds as the ball was being thrown in. Umpire called referees attention, there was a bit of messing between Dowling and the full back and Dowling got the line.

sorry lads its not should haves we are discussing..I remember most of those..it wasnt Johh Haran or Harnan etc..this fellah I am on about was certainly Toye and he played with Armagh..I am going to throw in Aidan as a first name as for some reason its in my head..also the sending off on throw ins, they are different in that if a lad flails a fellah as the ball is been thrown in..I remember the Kerry fellah decking Murphy which was scandalous..Eddie Brennan on Seamus Hickey the year..Clare took Tony Browne out of it too in 1998...just the original Armagh one always stuck with me for some reason..anyone remember it?

Martin Toye from Maghery (ironically the same club as Forker) played for Armagh around that time and was known as a hot head. Think he had serious record of red cards with his club.

It was early PJ but there was 2 or 3 mins gone. It wasn't at the throw in

yes Keneally from Kerry should have seen red - after 10 seconds. It was the worst act ever, because he planned to take Murphy out of it - so he says in his book

But Forker, ( most Armagh supporters )say it was harsh yesterday - but this lad has serious issues, how many reds, yellows, blacks .... it can't all be bad luck or the referee's fault.... he odds on favourite to be sent off in every game...

1998 Connacht final. Jason Neary came on a sub for Roscommon, hit Ja Fallon a clatter running on and straight off before the game even restarted I think.

thanks you Brolly from Monaghan...I think you have nailed it...his sending off was definitely seconds..I think it was 20....anyway I have started a good debate...Tommy Walsh from Kilkenny has to be one of the luckiest men going..swinging the hurl at the Tipp player I think it was and hit Brian Gavin instead...Gavin didnt send him off (not sure if he even got a card but I stand corrected on that) as Gavin later said "sure he wasnt swinging the hurl at me"...now how about that..or another strange sending off this time came in a league match between Kilkenny and Wexford I think it would have been late 1980's again..Wexford had a huge lead at half time...Kilkenny came back in 2nd half as they would...Liam Fennelly soloed through and Harry Ryan was crying out for pass as he was unmarked and Fennelly didnt pass..they clashed over the incident and from memory the referee put off Harry Ryan for hitting Fennelly (he wasnt taking off by the manager at the time but was sent off)..anyone remember that incident..I heard it live on radio when life was very simple...
