The Ranch win Sigerson

(Oldest Posts First)

Great result and congratulations to St Marys on Saturday.

Given the fact that only around 1000 students attend the college on the Falls Road it makes it more remarkable given the resources/numbers of some the universities they faced, in fact they don't even have a pitch.
So could this be a year for the underdog? Im away to book my hotel for all Ireland weekend...hon the saffrons!!

Was delighted to see them win it. They were littered with exceptional players at the same time, Meyler, McShane, McCann, McKiernan, O Neill, McGeary Mac Iomhair McKay
Wonderful workrate and team ethos

they only won because the Dublin players were still jetlagged from their Jamaican holiday

They scored some fantastic points throughout the game and their substitutes certainly had more of an impact on the game.
Alhough UCD hit a brave few wides in the second half and from areas of the pitch st.marys were converting from in the first half. They will no doubt be thinking they let it get away from them.
As for having a team of exceptional players, have a look at some the panels of the other universities that competed.

Great win for them. Fair play. UCD kicked some terrible wides and Mary's fully deserved their win as they were by far the better coached team in my opinion.

McKieran really is a quality footballer.

Can anyone provide details/link of the counties, even clubs of the Sigerson squads? Always find it hard to get this info.

UCD didn't even have their best players on the field
county players should not be playing sigerson

Sour grapes- I thought you specialised in oranges. St Mary's have only around 200 male students to choose from. How many other colleges have or could win a Sigerson with such limited resources. The players and coaches deserve huge respect for what they have achieved.
