Did the referee in the camogie final lose it on Cork,Cork captain is not very happy with him, mooncat (Kilkenny) - Posts: 533 - 27/09/2016 20:21:45 1919878 Link 0 |
The ref seemed fine to me and i can't recall any commentator on tv, the press etc criticising him. Laois76 (Laois) - Posts: 1270 - 27/09/2016 22:56:39 1919961 Link 6 |
I watched the full game and cannot recall the referee making any obvious blunders.I remember the Cork girl who has made the distasteful comments being booked for remonstrating with the ref and pointing her finger in his face.Like the unsympathetic Cork football manager towards Dublin, more poor sportsmanship down Lesside.Kilkenny were far the better team on the day.

Cork did not perform on the day and were beaten by a very hungry for success kk team. Is she saying because he's from Derry he shouldn't be given the AI final. Bit of sour grapes from Aishling. I actually know Eamonn Cassidy from our club and county games and can say he's a fine ref who is fair and impartial as a ref should be. bulmccabe (Tyrone) - Posts: 361 - 27/09/2016 23:12:10 1919974 Link 0 |
She said that he made a mess of the group game in Wexford Park & that she couldn't believe he was then appointed for the final. Best team won in the final. I get the impression Cork thought they could bully Kilkenny but Kilkenny were ready for them! keeper7 (Longford) - Posts: 4088 - 27/09/2016 23:54:11 1919999 Link 0 |
sour grapes from the Cork captain. they thought they could bully their way to the all ireland and showed a total lack of respect to kilkenny

Just on an aside Hannah Looney, the dual Cork player had played in most of the Cork footballers. It seems strange she was omitted from the Cork ladies football panel for the all-ireland final. Now the Cork management say it had nothing to do with the 'handshake incident' but you'd nearly conclude it was. A very gutsy, decision if so. A very harsh omission which is clearly related to what happened in the Camoige decider despite what's said. As a punishment it's very harsh considering she played in all the games to date. Including this omission & the Corks managers very stupid comments about their stance on their victory over Dublin in the football, the new man comes out with very poor credibility. Mr Ryan was a gentleman in comparison. What will remain a fact is that their All Ireland final win will forever be tarnished as it was a drawn game in reality, tarnished just like Meaths Leinster final victory over Louth. A 19 year old makes a mistake & is punished like that shows a manager who lacks class. moc.dna (Galway) - Posts: 1212 - 28/09/2016 12:05:34 1920112 Link 1 |
I wouldn't take too much notice of Ashling Thompson comments. It appears to me that the Milford girls are fairly fond of the camera and the media and avail of any opportunity to get media attention. The_Bull (Cork) - Posts: 248 - 28/09/2016 15:24:45 1920184 Link 1 |
Shes done well for herself and so has Anna. Fair play to them - bright stars in an otherwise very gloomy sport…

You wouldn't know. There could be more in it than we know. Maybe the camogie final incident was the straw that broke the camels back for the football manager, felt she needed her wings clipped. She'll shake hands properly the next time! Laois76 (Laois) - Posts: 1270 - 28/09/2016 22:40:38 1920313 Link 6 |

I'm surprised there has been no comment from the Cork girls on the Lotto ad featuring "beach camogie"!!! arock (Dublin) - Posts: 4892 - 29/09/2016 12:47:15 1920467 Link 0 |
