Peter Creedon new Laois manager.....

(Oldest Posts First)

I see Creedon has got the men he wants along side him in Mickey McGeehan and a big blow to Tipp in he has taken
Tommy Toomey who guided Tipp u21 s to the All Ireland Final last year and was selector with the Tipp Senior footballers this year has been named along with Michael O'Loughlin who was with Cork u21 s this year.

Its a bold statement from Laois who interviewed Paul Curran Jason Ryan and Glen Ryan among others....

There was no local interest in the job which might be understandable after what happened with local man Mick Lillis last year!

Can Laois get back to division two?

Its a long long time since they had to play 3rd tier football in the league maybe it might help them get back on track.

I think the players on the panel had a say in the appointment

Seems like a very good management setup.

Hard to know what talent is there really. The 2003-2004 minors will be 31/32 next year. They are a key core group.. Quigley, Begley, Donoher, Timmons, Cahir Healy (probably will stay with the hurlers) etc. Munnelly 34 yrs old. The 2007 Leinster winning minors should still be at their peak, 27/28yrs. Meredith, Kingston, O'Loughlin. The club championship is throwing up a few potential players.

You wouldn't be overly optimistic. Having said that Clare beat us by a point and got to the all-ireland quarter final this year. Surely we can pull 20-22 decent players together and aim for what Clare and Fermanagh achieved over the last 2 yrs.

I don't think being in Division 3 will do Laois any harm. I Agree that Clare did well as did Tipperary.
