From what I've seen and heard, some of the players aren't all that bothered and the cup is a little worse for wear so no, I'm not going.

Well I can't go anyway, I have something on that night.

Would hope the stories about the cup are complete lies - game itself could go either way - saw the first day there was nothing between the teams so hopefully we get a good game, played in the right spirit with whoever performs best on the day lifting an intact cup.

We struggled to pull together a team on Sunday past, yes the score would suggest a team on fire but Derry are in bad shape at the moment. It will be tight however great to see Daniel McK, Benny McCarry and PJ O'Connell back playing for us, three great lads with bags of skill and the right attitude as they work like animals for every ball. I do believe the county has now got their best players playing for them, thank god!

ha,clearly the GAA don't care too much about it anyway! :P

It is going to be an interesting match and more interest now than there was the first day.Antrim should win,but having said that Meath didn't turn up for the first half last time and managed a draw.So you would never know,Meath could be more confident this time.

I agree with that completely Ziggy

As for the game itself, it goes without saying Antrim should win and I suppose the element of surprise Meath had, has gone to an extent.
However, it will be interesting to see if they have learned any lessons from the first day re their complacency/arrogance and hurling in patches, which sadly is a regular feature in most of their games now.
They 'should' be the sharper, more skilful team mainly because they have been playing at a higher level, however, they will also have to match the hunger and fight that Meath displayed and I assume will display again.
Attitude of both teams obviously will have a huge bearing on the result and if its right on our side then we're in business, if not, then we'll get a kick up the a** again.

Not being able to beat Meath is a microcosm of why Antrim hurling is where it is today. Antrim looked a top tier county at times in that match but there's no fight in them whatsoever. Counties like Meath, Westmeath, Carlow, Kildare & Kerry are making a genuine effort to raise their standards while Antrim thread water & play without passion.

I have the same confidence about the replay of this match I had going in to the first one - nonewhatsoever. I felt going in to the first that it was there for either team and perhaps it suited for people to talk up Antrim prior to it. However, on the back of the first game people might now understand why I have no confidence that we will win this. Consistency and form are things we haven't really had in recent times and that is why I think Meath have as much a chance of winning this as we have. If people are still saying that we will win this easy then that is just the cute hoorism I mentioned above.

Anyway, hope it is a good game and hopefully we win but if we don't then we don't and I for one won't be surprised.

Have zero confidence is Antrim. Meath are 9/2 with Paddy Power, think I'll be putting a few quid on that.
