I've been looking for a list of All-Ireland football semi-finals over the years. This site used to have them (and finals) but I can't find them. Google has also been of no help. Does anyone have a link to them, or a list itself? Thanks. Tacaí Liatroma (Leitrim) - Posts: 1008 - 26/11/2015 11:59:47 1809999 Link 0 |

I could go back to the early 90s if it helps? 94 I believe your own county was well beaten by the dubs while Down beat Cork in the other semi the week before. gotmilk (Fermanagh) - Posts: 4971 - 27/11/2015 12:49:50 1810222 Link 0 |

Wikipedia gives a very good account of the football championships over the years, I have referenced it a lot to remind myself of who played who in the lesser games through the seasons. A must if you are researching results. Donegalman (None) - Posts: 3830 - 29/11/2015 10:50:13 1810414 Link 0 |
that's very interesting. in the early days (up til 1933). no team from either connacht or ulster ever won the all-ireland. i also note that in nearly all of those years the connacht and ulster representives were never paired in the all-ireland semi-final. I also note that on 3 or 4 occasions it seemed that the all-ireland semi-finals were played before the provincial championship was concluded. so the winner of the semi-final did not play in the final but the team that beat them in the province did. (it seems the GAA was always a shambles). on another occasion I read that Kerry refused to play Galway but nevertheless were "duly awarded the title" .. why ?. on another occasion Kerry refused to travel to Jones Road and forfeited the game. However the strangest note of all was the one at the top that said no all-ireland due to US invasion by GAA athletes. what the hell was that all about :) s goldrick (Cavan) - Posts: 5518 - 29/11/2015 11:06:55 1810415 Link 0 |

And specifically what I was looking for was teams that had never lost a semi-final. Kilkenny would have been a good candidate, and Kildare won their first few semi-finals, but it seems Limerick (P1 W1) have the only unbeaten record in All-Ireland football semi-finals. They're also unbeaten in finals, 2 out of 2. There were no semi-finals when they won their second one. Tacaí Liatroma (Leitrim) - Posts: 1008 - 29/11/2015 14:16:03 1810442 Link 0 |
