The goalkeeping area will no doubt receive a lot of criticism. I don't think Cluxton deserves it, but I do think he deserved a nomination.

As i see it, Dublin have 7 absolute shoe in's

Rory O'Carroll, Philly McMahon, Jack McCaffrey, Cian O'Sullivan, Brian Fenton, Ciaran Kilkenny, Bernard Brogan.

Out of the other 4 id give James McCarthy the best chance of winning one, But wouldnt say the whole Dublin half back line will get an all star, They'll throw in one of the Mayo lads for balance. Probably Lee Keegan.

Fair enough that Cluxton and Flynn aren't there, But Durcan ? Seriously.

Also, Where's Biggy RoyalDunne ?

For me Philly McMahon, Jack McCaffrey, Bernard Brogan, Ciarán Kilkenny are all nailed on.

I think we'll get maybe at most three more on top of those three. Between Cian O'Sullivan, James McCarthy, Rory O'Carroll, Diarmuid Connolly and maybe even Bryan Fenton or Paddy Andrews in contention depending on how it goes.

Was expecting Fenton to be nominated for Young player of the year, he must be over the age or something

Durcan had a great year Wayno...not sure why you are so surprised about it. He pulled off at least one big save in pretty much every game and his kickouts were excellent. He didn't put a foot wrong.

No big surprises here. I think that Cluxton had a mediocre year, but like someone mentioned earlier, he wont lose sleep over this.

Chris Barrett actually had a great year. He was impressive in every game and had brogan well shackled when he was on him. A lot of talk of Enright getting one. For me, Barrett had a better year.

Paul Cribbin got 3 man of the matches on route to an All Ireland quarter final no sniff of a nomination. What basis does Donie Kingston get one for beating Carlow??? Joke

The outstanding corner back outside of McMahon was McCarron who should win one but probably wont.

I know but the Dublin half forwards (Kilkenny apart) hadn't great seasons. Walshe was good in the Munster championship (if provincial championships count) and he and D O Connor are the only other half forwards on a forward list that includes defenders (Martin, Harte) mid fielders and mostly from the full forward line. If you were to pick players out of their position (which is a cop out) there is no way he would make it.

Philly McMahon for me was the player of the year, Diarmuid O'Connor the young player of the year. If mayo were to get 2 allstars id like to see Lee Keegan and tom parsons receive them.
