Travel advice for AI final

(Oldest Posts First)

Hi, lucky enough to have tickets for the final this weekend (I've been to a lot of games this year before anyone goes slamming an Antrim man having tickets for the big game) and was wondering if anyone has any tips for how long it will take to get from Lahinch to Croke on Sunday? Down there for Friday and Saturday night and just not used to travelling east to Croker.
Any rough time estimates?
Thanks!

I presume you're driving?

My only advice is to leave Lahinch early!!

2 options for Dublin, head south and come up the N7 from Limerick, you'll run into the Kilkenny fans coming up from the south though when they join the N7 though.

Other way is to head up towards Galway and come up the N6/N4 with all the Galway fans!

If you're not driving then book on the train from Ennis or Limerick into Heuston Stationa and jump on the Luas to Busáras/Connolly and stroll away up.

Live in Clonmel at the min so thinking of driving Lahinch to Thurles and getting the train? That be a good option?

Firstly you don't have to justify why you're going to the game.
3.5 hours minimum and that's without traffic...

It is an option but why drive past Limerick to Thurles for the train???
Drive from Lahinch to Limerick and get train from the Colbert station

If it were me I'd book onto the train if you can. If Thurles suits you for getting home after it'd be ideal.

You can book your seat and just jump on the Luas at Heuston, the Luas will be packed with KK and Galway fans as well though because their trains come into Heuston too but you'll get on one. Alternatively there are numerous buses from Heuston that'll bring you up to O'Connell Bridge area where you can stroll up to Croker in 20 mins.

If you drive up the N7 you could look at parking round the Red Cow and get the Luas from there.

Dublin Coach leaves Ennis for Dublin every hour, €15 one way, also stops in Limerick. Direct service, stops only at Kildare village and Red Cow after that. Save yourself the drive entirely, will drop you in to City centre.

I'm in Cork at wedding on Sat (missing the Dubs replay) but have got a ticket for Sunday so I've book onto the train Sunday morning myself after all my advice!
