Tipperary minor footballers in All Ireland Final

(Oldest Posts First)

Well done to Tipperary footballers in reaching the minor final. Well worth the win today and should have won by more. Thought Jack Kennedy was outstanding and led by example. Tynan and corner back Lowry also excellent. In fact whole team played very well as unit and they will really test Kerry in the final. Sour note left at the end with the Kildare sub clearly striking Jack Kennedy in the eye after the final whistle in what appeared like an unprovoked incident. While this isn't good it isnt unprecedented for this Kildare team with some of their subs already suspended this year for a similar incident after the Offaly game earlier in the year. It received some negative media exposure at the time with the Kildare county board losing entitlement to home championship games for the next 2 years at minor level.

A good win alright for Tipp. They are now in two finals with many players involved in both. Kerry and Galway will have better preparation and will probably win.

Fantastic achievement by Tipp to reach minor and under-21 football finals in the same year. It would be a massive boost to football in the county if they beat Kerry in the final. Hopefully they will soon be serious challengers for a Munster senior title.

Well done Tipp, deserved to win. Disappointed that Kildare were so predictable once again. Really hope they go and win it now.

Benny have you been to the Galway and Kerry minor training sessions? We'll be grand, if we a good enough we'll win either or both.

Tipp were by far the better team. Could easily have scored 5 goals. Seems like they were doing their best not to win it for a long time and should have been way ahead. Fair play to them though, they showed great character when they went down to 14. Hope they win the final now.

Great achievement to reach both finals. I saw the footballers earlier this year and they definitely didn't look like AI material, so fair play to them for the level of improvement since.

Well done to our minors today who are actually playing all year minus 3 excellent regular players. It's some achievement. Although quirke did come on at half time his one of the 3 real stars who was missing all season. Tipp played kildare in a challenge game back around March r April and we drew with them. Reaching the minor and u21 football finals in the one year is magical given were predominantly a hurling county. However when you look at where some of the team are from I.E drom and inch, roscrea etc these are notable hurling strong holds. I can understand kildare frustration at the end tipp do need to work on their tackling but overall were a physical team and our players can break tackles and run with the ball. Kerry are a different animal and tipp will find it hard to break them down.

Just goes to show the "dual" thing can & should be fostered by all at underage level. Well done Tipp.
