Cool the jets! I know it was the semi-final. Just a typo ;) legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 7757 - 21/07/2015 13:03:59 1756906 Link 0 |
No, under 21s shouldn't have to be committed to another county team during the summer, should use these years to enjoy their summer as when your playing minor and senior your going through the entire summer if your successful, young lads can't go on LC holidays etc. Victorious87 (Wicklow) - Posts: 597 - 21/07/2015 13:53:02 1756952 Link 0 |

I think it should be held over the summer months,BUT any U21s on senior panels should not be allowed to play. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 21/07/2015 15:25:46 1757040 Link 0 |
Looking at the football point of view, with the top Under 21 players being brought into the Senior teams then there is no chance that you can play Club, U21 Club, U21 County, County Football/Hurling with whatever else is going on if they are studying and so on... Play the U21 in the summer but counties should not be allowed select players to play for more than one county panel. No seniors playing U21 and no U21's playing minor. tirawleybaron (Mayo) - Posts: 1091 - 21/07/2015 16:17:56 1757072 Link 0 |

would be very hard to schedule over the summer months with 21 hurling on too. Then again Kerry are the only non dual county in Munster so they wouldn't have them worries.Ideally need to move Sigerson/Fitzgibbon Cups to November HughHunt24 (Cork) - Posts: 841 - 22/07/2015 09:10:46 1757333 Link 0 |
Think they are played at the right time at the moment. Maybe even bring it forward by another month. The championship is condensed and is over leaving players to play for the seniors. It's a good way to see what players is standing out at their own age grade which could become useful for the senior set up. woops (Kerry) - Posts: 2073 - 22/07/2015 12:05:22 1757449 Link 0 |

The number of U21s among the top tier GAA teams is very small. (if you've any doubts simple look at the odds for the Young Player of the Year) besidetheditch (Dublin) - Posts: 81 - 24/07/2015 21:06:59 1758597 Link 0 |
I was at the Munster U21 hurling final last evening. It was a good evening's entertainment midweek during the summer. In my own humble opinion it is a shame that football supporters cannot enjoy s similar evening of entertainment at U21 level during the summer. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 7757 - 31/07/2015 08:48:29 1761509 Link 0 |
Yes it's played too early, it's the same with the hurling Christy Ring, Nicky Rachard, Lory Meagher cups, with the u21 football aren't majority of players doing exams at colleges and universities when the champ is on, how can they concentrate on exams with football also taking place and imagine what would happen if they broke their hand or worse still end up in hospital for a week or 2 when exams are on, bring the champs back to summer riverboys (Mayo) - Posts: 1389 - 31/07/2015 09:21:58 1761529 Link 0 |
People here saying its shouldn't be in summer so lads dont have to commit to 2 county teams but this is already the case in hurling. RoyalBadger (Meath) - Posts: 571 - 31/07/2015 09:32:59 1761531 Link 0 |
