In hurling I think too many teams have peaked too soon. These days teams are physically well prepared in January. It results in a very long year. In the olden days when Cork were winning all Irelands, players would be given the winter off for Murphy's and would return with a bolg. Not any more. I think Dublin and Waterford might not benefit from their NHL form at all. I fancy Clare to come out of the long grass and surprise a few people.

In football I think Tyrone will build on their U21 success. I think they will come out of nowhere to win it. But I hope Mayo win it.

A long summer ahead of us.
