Club Thread! Ideas to help the local Club

(Oldest Posts First)

Just thought this may be a good place to get the views from club members round the country on 2 issues highly relevant to struggling smaller clubs without the big money backer!

Firstly, Player injuries. Do clubs have any schemes in place to raise money for player operations, injuries etc. Obviously the benefit scheme is limited and money has to be paid up front?

Anyone advice a private insurance provider for club players?

Lastly, new, fresh fund raising initiatives. The boxing has been done, any fresh new ideas knocking about at the moment?

Cheers

My club held the Kube last year. raised over €6,500. Its based on the tv show. Great nights entertainment. Club in Monaghan/Cavan sets up and runs the whole show.
You could also use Come Dine with me, Family Fortunes, Mr and Mrs, but they have been around a while. Cow Pat Comp, cow s**ts in a field that has be lined out in a grid.

My own club ran the Kube through that group of lads from Cavan this time last year. They are very well organised and was a great nights entertainment. Needs a big effort before hand selling/advertising/getting sponsorship etc but well within most clubs ability. My club is a two team (at a push) club and raised in excess of 15k so anyone can do it.
