Lets try and spice up the worst province in the Country. Looking at the 2015 draw: Jack_Goff (Meath) - Posts: 2920 - 09/10/2014 19:44:26 1662034 Link 0 |
You have the right idea about quarter and semi finals away from Croke Park but the powers that be won't allow this to happen. Money is what they worry about not results or winning margins. The GAA would play any double header in Croke Park with Dublin taking part as they have massive support, if they could get away with it they would only allow Dublin to play 35 mins of football and then play the 2nd half a week later just to make money. In the other 3 proviences it's usually a rotation system that is used for finals with most counties with large capacity grounds hosting them, it's time for Leinster to do the same riverboys (Mayo) - Posts: 1389 - 09/10/2014 20:15:01 1662071 Link 0 |
Everyone seems to want this except the GAA. We know Dublin would win the games anyway but it would give weaker counties a chance at least. The games would be sell-outs too, which would be great for the towns in which the games will be played mayoaresavage (Mayo) - Posts: 313 - 09/10/2014 20:17:12 1662074 Link 0 |

Surely they'll give us a game outside Croker Portlaois Longford or Tullamore would be rocking if we went down there. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 09/10/2014 20:33:19 1662090 Link 0 |
It's up to the culchie's where we play. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13692 - 09/10/2014 20:36:10 1662091 Link 0 |
Dublin will play their QF in Croker next year, personally I couldn't give a toss anyway because they'll be in the Leinster final next year regardless, as for us, we haven't played a home game in Leinster since 1995 (I think it was) but to be honest Croker suits me better anyway, it's closer and the bus goes past me shed, yep it's all about me :-) Htaem (Meath) - Posts: 8657 - 09/10/2014 20:39:27 1662096 Link 0 |
That match should be played in Aughrim and we should have a ten point head start as well. sponger (Wicklow) - Posts: 2896 - 09/10/2014 20:53:57 1662114 Link 0 |
Have they fixed the scoreboard in Aughrim yet?? Awful consternation there about that in 2013 when we visited, would love to think this game would be in Navan but I severely doubt it Richieq (Meath) - Posts: 3734 - 10/10/2014 08:42:08 1662155 Link 0 |
A lot of sense in that OP that the Leinster council will surely ignore. RoyalBadger (Meath) - Posts: 571 - 10/10/2014 09:04:10 1662170 Link 0 |

Would love to see the QF taken out of Croker but then again who will finance the shortfall? witnof (Dublin) - Posts: 1604 - 10/10/2014 09:48:25 1662202 Link 0 |
who will finance the shortfall? The shortfall in reality goes to pay Dublin coaches to train Dublin kids. It's not like the rest of us will get better or worse if the games played out of croker. The reality is investment in the rest of leinster will result in a competitive and exciting province that in turn will greatly boost the attendances at matches. yeah that or play the winner of longford/ofally in portlaoise. A ground between the 2 counties. EIther way the alst thing I want is Meath playing a match in croker unless it's the leinster final or a louth/meath derby. Jack_Goff (Meath) - Posts: 2920 - 10/10/2014 17:16:36 1662472 Link 0 |
I think it would actually suit Dublin to play outside of Croker and also the other counties. It would bring colour and excitement to Mullingar, Tullamore, Port Laois wherever. galwayford (Galway) - Posts: 2513 - 10/10/2014 21:24:33 1662547 Link 0 |
Navan or Newbridge are in no condition to host well attended championship games; in my view they are in no condition to host intercounty championship games period. It should be based around attendance, and attendance alone, and not some half baked notion that Dublin must move out of HQ in the early rounds. seany16 (Dublin) - Posts: 1658 - 11/10/2014 10:10:12 1662567 Link 0 |
