Still a few games to go but with the exception of Monaghan, I don't see any of the other teams (Kildare, Armagh, Down) troubling either Tyrone or Dublin. So the most likely outcome is a Dublin v Tyrone semi final . Don't mean to be disrespectful to any of the others, but its gonna be a step too far . Monaghan could perhaps trouble Tyrone but even that might not materialise. Donegal_D (Donegal) - Posts: 61 - 26/07/2017 09:41:27 2023666 Link 1 |
Why not just enjoy the next round of matches, discussing actual fixtures? Ban (Westmeath) - Posts: 1415 - 26/07/2017 10:02:02 2023681 Link 4 |
Yeah, stall the ball man. We'll take Armagh and Tyrone. derfil1 (Kildare) - Posts: 1612 - 26/07/2017 10:06:42 2023686 Link 1 |
I would fear Tyrone Liamwalkinstown (Dublin) - Posts: 8166 - 26/07/2017 10:24:23 2023699 Link 1 |
No disrespect to Armagh but I think kildare will beat them. Wally (Tyrone) - Posts: 912 - 26/07/2017 10:55:32 2023726 Link 1 |
I'd actually fancy Kildare to beat Tyrone IF they play them! tiobraid (Tipperary) - Posts: 4119 - 26/07/2017 11:09:28 2023735 Link 0 |
Both Dublin and Tyrone have yet to be tested. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13705 - 26/07/2017 11:43:26 2023763 Link 1 |
I'd agree with you - Tyrone will have one hell of a game against Kildare but arguably they will need that before meeting the Dubs if they get that far!!

Don't look too far ahead. No idea who Tyrone will play yet and Armagh v Kildare will be very tight. Byanthon (Tyrone) - Posts: 1780 - 26/07/2017 18:15:18 2024061 Link 1 |

Someone's anxious but there is no doubt that if Tyrone meet Kildare they will beat them handy. catch22 (USA) - Posts: 2148 - 26/07/2017 19:35:45 2024092 Link 0 |
Yeah take one game at a time, any of the teams left at this stage are very good,it's just a question of them playing their best football on the day, Monaghans record from now on isn't great, but that can change, Tyrone are good but I'm not sure how good yet as they haven't been tested, really looking forward to the closing stages of the championship now, hard to see past a Dublin/Kerry final though I suppose but ya never know and that's the beauty of it. I actually hope you guys do. Wouldn't mind playing Kildare again

That's where I hope my smart money is going, Kildare are very underrated around the country in my opinion.

If it comes to pass, I think Tyrone v Dublin will be the game of the Summer.I'd fancy Dublin to win it but it'll be a very interesting match. Not sure the Ulster championship was that strong this year.Still, it's Sean Cavanagh's last year and I'd expect Tyrone to give it everything.

What's wrong with anyone looking too far ahead and speculating? We're fans, not media trained sportsmen or coaches, we can do what we like! MedwayIrish (Wexford) - Posts: 2324 - 26/07/2017 22:57:36 2024233 Link 0 |
Certainly think they COULD beat Dublin but in my opinion they will turn Kildare over with a bit to spare.......if Kildare manage to squeeze past Armagh and my money's on the orchard county for that one.

It would be silly to judge now before two quarter-finals. Oisin McConville reckons Tyrone wouldn't live with Dublin, but I will have to watch their game before I would have a go at predicting the outcome of the possible meeting. realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8586 - 27/07/2017 03:12:16 2024270 Link 0 |
