The Super 8 is still a year away from it's first runout but an expansion to a top 16 is inevitable. The middle 4 in Division 1 of Donegal, Mayo, Tyrone and Monaghan and the top 4 in Division 2 of Galway, Kildare, Meath and Cork will all have their sights on the group stage. There's a big gap between Dublin, Kerry, Mayo, Donegal, Tyrone and most of the chasing pack. If you have a 5 or 6 team tournament then you'd get more competitive and balanced games. With a 16 team All Ireland though you'll get a more condensed version of the championship with less variation in terms of ability between most of the teams taking part - but they'll still be hammered when they face a top team. if_in_doubt (Kildare) - Posts: 3685 - 13/04/2017 13:44:08 1979081 Link

I'd go with 1 Dublin 2 Kerry 3 Mayo (different team come championship) 4 Tyrone 5 Donegal 6 Monaghan 7 Galway 8 Kildare 9 Cork 10 Meath 11 Tipperary 12 Cavan 13 Clare 14 Roscommon 15 Louth 16 Armagh Very little between 7-11 and 12-16. Can't believe some people are putting Monaghan as far down as number 8, sure they have been one of the best teams so far this year.
