They've got more of a chance than Tyrone.

I'd put the sum total of what is in my bank account (not thats its much) that Tyrone will win Sam before Mayo win it.

The championship will be wide open again this year as it has been for the last number of years

There's been 4 different champions in the last 4 years, how can you narrow it down this much already?

Kerry & Cork will be there or thereabouts, Dublin showed a true measure of intent yesterday, Tyrone are improving all the time and who's to say Mayo won't go one better than last year?

I reckon it could be a novel pairing this year, much like Cork v Down in 2010, a final no one saw coming

I think its quite open this year, you can't predict it to be a three horse race after a round of league games in March, that's pure nonsense. There is no settled pattern to any team yet, true Cork, Kerry and the Dubs looked good at the weekend but Laois, Donegal and Armagh looked cat and Donegal beat Cork last weekend and Armagh had the pure audacity to go to Tralee and beat Kerry who in turn should have beaten Dublin out the gate in Croke Psrk so go figure all that out, it's certainly not a basis for predicting a three horse race.

Think about it, he's dead right. Who could see Mayo, Galway, Meath, Donegal, Down or even Tyrone or Kildare having the players to win an All Ireland. It's ludicrous to say it has been wide open last few years when only Down came anyway close to getting in there.

As a Tyrone supporter I would be happy to reach the last eight and take it from there. I would expect to see Dublin, Kerry, Cork, Kildare, Tyrone, Mayo, Donegal and Down all contending.

Down beat Kerry two years ago, Meath beat Dublin earlier that year, Mayo beat Cork last year. Or did I dream all those things?

No doubt about one of those 3 and A. N other, from Tyrone being the most likely county. I think a more sensible debate is why these 3 counties and what apparent advantages do they have over the other counties ?

I get slated for mentioning air time and its bias, but I'll ask ye. If you were playing an amateur sport and in February, March and April you were on the tele and in the media giving interviews, playing in croker then surely that nervous psychological doubt has evaded your psyche come the summer. Compare that to the counties who hit the bright lights of Dublin for the first time and under the glare of the media spotlight they bottle it cannot handle the pressure.

Dublin, Cork big big counties with great resources comparably to Louth and Longford, Fermangh Clare etc etc playing in the same competition its like asking a heavyweight to bet a lightweight.

People wax lyrical about football and its passion but the reality is it's just like soccer sure they'll only ever be a few winners to pick from. Some might say that's life but i think we need to re-evaluate the structure within the GAA because at the moment only Tipp or da Cats will win Mc Carthy and Sam is between 3 teams.

It's very easy to state the self-obvious at the beginning of March. More interesting would be to forsee which other teams will improve and come into contention by next August. For the sake of football I would like to see one or two teams like Limerick, Longford, Roscommon, Louth, Monaghgan etc making a big breakthrough. Who will it be ?

I'm a fan of Kildare's work ethic and attitude, but saying their players are better than Dublin's.... how?
