I think one thing is clear after the weekend games that Sam is between Dublin Cork and Kerry. Awesome performances from all 3 teams.

Its the 11th of March Clondalkindub. We will talk about retaining Sam in August if we are still involved!

That's ridiculous logic on your part. So Cork had no hope of winning Sam after last Sunday in Donegal???

Fairly simple... add Tyrone to that list and out of those 4... well theres not a lot between them to claim the AI 2012

I agree. Maybe Tyrone as an outside bet. New hungry team.

I'd put Kildare and Mayo well ahead of Tyrone at this point as well, we won't be in with a shout come September. I'd put us back along with Galway, Donegal, Meath etc. as teams that would be doing well to get an AI quarter or semi

I'm not looking past our Munster quarter-final in Thurles, with a trip to Cork for the winner.

Nonsense AthCliath, we are a division 2 side, doing well yes, but in division 2, and thats the difference. Clondalkin maybe a bit premature in his forecast but he won't be a million miles off either.

brendtheredhand, yet might as well say yous are a division 1 side now.

Tyrone have being going some guns so far. 8 out of 8 but do you think ye might have peaked to early brend?

Look although it is early I'd be somewhat in agreement but I would also add tyrone they are the big 4

Chasing pack are donegal, mayo, galway, kildare, meath and maybe down. One may sneak into a semi but I'd say that's as far as it would go. At this stage the big 4 are miles ahead of rest but its only second week in march so who knows.

Gotmilk, this team is playing to the best of their ability and there are some tremendous footballers on that side, Peter Harte is emerging as a potential great but they are still a work in progress. The league is a great preparation for the cut and thrust of the championship and I am more optimistic about our chances than I was that humbling August Saturday evening in Croke park, but not optimistic enough to be talked up as one of the 'big four'.

nobody seems to think kildare have a prayer now, only a few weeks ago there was a thread saying they were favourites to win leinster after their o byrne cup win over dublin its strange a couple a weeks ago we also saw a thread saying dublin were out partying too much and were way off the pace this year.
haha it seems every week sam maguire has a new destination depending on who wins at the weekend.
I would rather predict the 8 teams to make the all ireland quarter finals
dublin,kildare,kerry,cork,tyrone,mayo,galway and meath

Agree with Killer its ridiculous logic to state only 3 counties are in with a chance of winning the AI.

Its only March, the Championship hasn't even started and as most people realise each team is only as good as their performance on any given day.

I would say that's fair comment, those 3 are ahead of the rest at the minute; it's maybe a year too soon for Tyrone.

Now that's a ridiculous statement. Talk about stating the obvious! Let's put it this way: there are only 3 teams capable of putting in an AI winning performance on any given day........here's a hint - take a look at the div1 table. Anybody from any other county(besides these 3) who believes they have even a sniff of a chance is delusional.
