Final Score from Kiltoom: Roscommon 1- 11 Mayo 0-10

Roscommon dominance over Mayo at this level continues. I dont really know why posters were tipping Mayo who were quiet lucky against Galway. I couldnt make it to Kiltoom this evening but from listening to the second half on mid west, roscommon were by far the better team even if Mayo did lead by a point at half time. Cillain O connor was held scoreless from play while it seems roscommon hve a rising star in Donal Smith.

Roscommon underage football is on the rise and they could have a serious senior team in a few years. Another bad result for a Mayo team which is worrying to say the least.

Great win for Tyrone tonight..Donegal with Molloy and McBrearty found the going harder in the second half but electric start.
Important bridge U-21 which we have not been up to the task in recent years.
Down next.

Tyronetim see 2 posts now where you are describing Tyrones great win. It was far from it and i think they will struggle to get out of ulster playing that way. That was a very poor donegal team in my opinion and mc brearty was poor. You must not have seen the game. They had one purple patch in the first half but should have destroyed donegal. management wont be happy and looks like o'neill is out with cruciate. big loss for the under 21's and the seniors

Just seen this and commented on our board was at the game.
A great win is to beat a team with Seasoned seniors like Molloy (put us out Ulster last year) and McBrearty (young) but doesn't look out of place at senior.
I didn't say it was great performance like our seniors patchy in parts but flashes of real ability.
U-21 is like Russian roulette given how little time they get together and trying to blend a couple of minor teams you just want to beat teams and get another chance to improve the players understanding of each other and establish a pattern. The substitutions and quality of them demonstrates they are still searching for the best 15.
Donegal's record is much better than ours at this level lately so I'm pleased to get through as I think U-21 is a proven bridge which tyrone have used successfully in the past to senior development. Munroe has been brought in for continuity and I applaud that.

Wondering why there is a news blackouts on Under 21 team on Tyrone website.... no team published prior to the game and no mention of the result?

It does look likely Kilkenny will be heading down under and another loss to the gaa in general. We've had heated discussion on this on the Down site as we have also lost a couple of class players to Aussie rules in Marty Clarke and young Caolan Mooney. I suppose with the week thats in it with Jim Stynes highlighting what is achievable, our best youngsters will always be keen to give it a go. I still feel its a real shame though

Donal Smith was class for Roscommon last nite.

Those 2 stood out in last years Minor C'Shipo.

Without a doubt - can't blame them though but Down have lost two serious talents there. Watched Mooney McRory cup think last year he was injured still devastating - the difference on the day.
Kilkenny very highly rated so another gone before we even get to see them.

Great result for Cavan yesterday beating Armagh who were heavy favourites having won the minor 3 years ago as well as having no less than 6 senior panelists in their team.

We have Derry next who gave Monaghan a hiding. Hard to call but I can see us winning Ulster again, we're a very very shrewd operation when it comes to underage teams in recent years.

I'd have thought that Louth beating Offaly was a bit of a shock. Dublin are looking strong. Pity these games aren't being broadcast like the Provincial U-21 Hurling Championship games usually are.

Things definitely improving for Cavan be good to see it bearing fruit at Senior level been a while from cavan had a decent senior team too long for a county like it.

Louth minor Ciaran Byrne brother of current Louth senior player Declan was snapped up by the ozzies last year. This kid oozes talent and the ozzies were quick to get him signed up.
It's easy to get recognition when you play for one of the bigger teams, so would young Kilkenny be as well touted if he'd played for say Louth.

Culann one week I'm hearing he's going to oz next week I'm hearing he's not, right now I've heard he's defo going. To the Louth poster I think he's the first Dublin player to go since Jim Stynes but I could be wrong on that. Loads of lads from weaker counties have gone over. Laois Down Antrim Westmeath Mayo have had players go over.

Yes they did Kilkenny was the top scorer in the minor championship just ahead of Donal Smith but the Young dub played more games i think. Sounds like Kilkenny is going down under alright will be a big loss.
