Yes RD we are top but you're missing the point. It's not unreasonable to assume we are there artificially as we have only beaten teams in the relegation scrap. Yes yes Monaghan beat Kildare but this is league so an allowance has to be made for some upsets. The fact is we could very well lose the next four games in a row. Kildare have an Indian Sign over us. Were brutal away so we could get nothing from Tyrone and Galway and Derry have an excellent League record over us. Potentially we could go into the Louth match on the same points we have now. With Louth only one behind at this point we could be in trouble. I pray to god I'm wrong but all I'm saying is not to get too excited at this point in time

royaldunne, how can Louth be the worse team in the division(besides Westmeath) when we drew with Galway, are we joint worse with Galway then?

I think Laois will beat Dublin to be honest, theyre a very good league side and Dublin are showing some really poor form

In fairness you have to take performances into account(although I would rate Louth ahead of WMeath),Galway where very poor and took Louth for granted, whereas Louth played well, but still could not win.Still a draw was a good result

Louth will be a tough enough match on Sat for Mickey Hartes Men of Steel but hope to come through it with a few points to spare. I also tip Monaghan to beat Derry, Meath to win against Kidare!

Kildare have a few players back for Meath so they will have a stronger side out that they had in the first two games.Kev Reilly,Graham Reilly and Sheridan are serious doubts for Meath,so I cannot call this until I see the team selections!

If Kildare or Derry , or both lose this weekend they could be in a relegation dogfight with the possibility than one or other may go down. Im workin on the premise that W'meath are bankers(but could be wrong) to make the drop. Would the respective fans be callin for the head of McGeeney or Brennan if this were to occur? Division 3 would be hard to stomach for either county.

Monaghan really should have beaten Meath, everyone except Meath folk know this.

Westmeath are ridiculously poor at the moment, so taking these two Meath performances into account you'd have to say that Meath are fortunate to be where they are currently.

Meath will find things at lot lot tougher from here on in, they'll do well to avoid relegation giving the opposition they have yet to face.

ps were you at the Galway v Louth game, or is your comment about Galway being very poor something you'd like to think was the case seeing that Louth took a point from the game ?.

You guys never fail to amuse me, with comments such as your's above. Whenever Louth get a result you people always and ever refuse to give credit to Louth, but instead you'll always look to the opposition for reasons for Louth winning. Teams not preforming or being caught on the hop by Louth for example, the opposition must have played poorly is the automatic avenue you look for.

Bit of a contradiction there, Meath dont give you credit for winning games but you pick holes in Meaths victories in the SAME post!

It's easy to pick holes in a team/county's perforrmance if that's what someone's looking to do.

Meath folk have a nasty narrowminded habit of always finding fault with Louth's opposition when Louth get a result.

We beat Kildare in Navan 2 years ago in the Leinster championship in what was a terrific game of football on a scoreline of 1-22 to 1-16.

All that Meath folk could say after that was that Louth caught Kildare on the hop, Kildare took Louth for granted and got caught cold for doing so.

When Louth scored more legitimate scores than Meath in the 2010 Leinster final but lost that final all that Meath folk could say was Meath underperformed. It would be unimaginable for Meath folk to think anything other than that or to give Louth the credit they deserved for making ye 'underperform'.

Somehow you bring 2010 into it!!!

look its a simple as this, if you want to take to moral high ground and have a pop at Meath fans for belittling your wins fine but at least take a consistant approach and not contradict yourself in the same post.

Oh if its means so much to do, yes i agree you played Kildare off the park that day.

Monaghan are a good team and they were beaten by a better team on the day fact
People go on about monaghan kicking 17 wides. 12 of those were from 30 + and under severe pressure from our backs. Don't forget we kicked 11 wides too that day.
Meath were better and for 55 mins ran rings round monaghan.

Dont say i've upset my royal neighbour. I pray not

Not at all george I very seldom get upset and if I do I have a great cure I just go home put on my sky+ and watch the last 10 mins of 2010 leinster final and nigel crawford holding the delaney cup aloft. Always makes me smile and cheers me up

I dont see you complaining when Meath folk bring up the 5 goals Meath put past Dublin in 2010.

That's OK for discussion, but not what happened afterwards.

Just going by what I was told by a friend in Galway,(I lived there for a while),as for Monaghan? Should have beaten Meath even though Meath won by 6 points? Give me a break,Meath where the better team in that game and clearly won.

I think the gods must be smiling on kildare. Kevin reilly and joe sherridan are injured and our best player imo graham reilly seems certain to miss saturday. Makes it kildares to loose. One or two players we might get away it but 3 is pushing it
