I cant imagine Westmeath being in the hunt..... other than that not much can be ruled out.

I think Tyrone, Meath and Galway look most likely to challenge for promotion but any of the others could get on a run.
If Tyrone beat Louth they will be in a great position... IF !!!

And from a Tyrone perspective it is good that the sky didn't fall in when the McMahons and Cavanaghs were missing.
Good for Tyrone and good for those players too.
And, after all the media assertions about being dependent on O Neill and Mulligan for scores after the Kildare game, it was good to see others taking the scores on Sunday.

I just think at this stage tyrone are looking like winners a win against louth would surely confirm that.
Meath win against kildare will affirm there credentials and will certainly end any hopes of kildare getting promoted
Now the big question is what of remainder.? Derry to be honest look a little below what they are capable of so may come good
Monaghan one of the surprises very good balanced team and will put it up to anyone there not to be taken for granted (like kildare did)
Galway may be a bit inconsistent at min but may still spring a surprise
Louth well they have a real chance of staying up and at this stage it might even be at kildares expense. (Few would have thought that at start of year)
Westmeath are I'm afraid heading back to div 3 but they may spring a surprise before end and beat a big name

i think tyrone will not have things all their own way away against louth and galway with their games at home to westmeath, meath and monaghan not certain to yeild them 6 points. total 11 points
meath will not beat kildare at home or galway away, playing derry and louth at home will be two difficult games for the royals, these two games are by no means gimmies, tyrone away will be another loss for meath. total 6 points
galway will beat westmeath away and meath and tyrone at home, they'll do well to get a point from monaghan and tyrone away. total 10
louth could pick up another 4 points at home to tyrone and kildare and away to monaghan and meath cant see them getting anything from their game with derry however. total 7points
monaghan wont beat derry or tyrone away or galway at home with a win away to westmeath and a draw at home with louth yielding them 5 points in total.
kildare will beat meath and galway away and derry and westmeath at home not sure they get anything away to their boogie team Louth however.total 8
derry will beat monaghan and louth at home and westmeath away, could sneek a draw away to meath with a loss away to kildare. total 7
westmeath could beat monaghan at home will will lose at home to derry and galway they'll lose away to tyrone and kildare.total 2 points

tyrone 11
galway10
kildare 8
derry7
louth7
meath6
monaghan5
westmeath 2

derry finnish 4th ahead of louth on the head to head result

Ah gammy your at it again. Few weeks ago we would be relegated and now giving us 6. You make me laugh. Please logic on kildare beating meath? The one line of form is monaghan we beat them by 6 kildare lost by 5. Surely that makes us slight favorites? Galway hear is the big question. Unknown due mainly to no one knows what derry team turned up on day. Derry have been poor and as a team I like them but for sure no one can tell if the galway result that good
For your info I think we will beat kildare or draw with them in navan. We will also win against louth. Derry still not sure of maybe loss. Away to tyrone loose and I think we will win in salthill

So that's 10 enough to be in contention for promotion and it could be 11

Tyrones win over Derry puts the Galway victory in Celtic Park in a bit for perspective. Galway will be a tough side to overcome, but they maybe aren't as good as their win in Derry suggested. It looks like Tyrone and Meath in the driving seat at this early stage. It's still not too late for a side like Monaghan to make a bit of a run late on and force their way into the picture. Often teams with a good start can faulter slightly after a defeat and just miss out to a team making a late run with momentum.

Meath beating Monagahn wasn't lucky. When I heard Eamonn Mac interviewded on sunday last he said they left 2 points behind them in Navan the week before. I'm afraid Eamonn is basing this on a 15 min spell in the second half. Meath should have been out of sight after the first quarter where they kicked at least 6 poor wides and then Monaghan got a lucky goal after 22 mins where the Monaghan players shot was heading wide until it hit the retreating Shane McAnarney and deflected under David Gallagher.
Nobody can quess what is going to happen on any given day. Meath beat Monaghan, Monaghan beat Kildare etc etc. It depends on a teams attitude how they will get on.

I agree Diego, its all on the day and the attitude the players bring to the field. Regarding my own County, Tyrone are playing like demons at the moment. Yes i agree as some have said the standard of the opposition that Tyrone have faced so far is questionable, however we can only beat whats put in front of us. The Tyrone players attitude on the other hand has been top class, playing as their lives depended on it.

Yes but you can only beat what's infront of you,and Tyrone have done that impressively to date,so,as such they deserve praise for that..In fairness who in the division are much better than Derry and Kildare??

Everyone, with the exception of Westmeath, Kildare are only above them on score difference with Derry below them on score difference.

Kildare have been more consistent than Louth so if that's how you measure better then Kildare are definitely better, on recent head to head however they are not better.

It's a while now since Louth played Derry with Derry winning on that occasion, so it's difficult to know who is currently better. Have Derry won anything that I'm overlooking or not giving them credit for in recent times ?.

Guys - Derry are shocking, and Kildare cannot score a point from more than 10 yards out. Tyrone will face much better opposition in the games to come such as Meath, Monaghan, Galway and i think Louth will be no push overs either (Sorry west meath but you's are getting a pasting)
