If any of ye knew Kildare, you would know that at this time of the year they are very inconsistent and are mainly focussed on fitness, so I am reluctant to say they will go up.

Derry, Kildare promoted.
Louth, Westmeath relegated.

steady on lad your first game is against kildare now thats going to be a tough enough test not to then mention derry looking for revenge after having a man sent off all the best with it wonder whats the odds for that are anyway

Wise up Dave- we're on a roll and not going to be stopped like cacsmckilly says. We've beaten a Div 4 team twice, a Div 3 team, a University side subsequently out of the Sigerson, and the powerhouses of Ulster Football that are Derry. Who are Kildare to stand in our way?!?!

If every team treated the league like the championship I would fully expect Kildare and Meath to go up,but instead I beleive it will be Derry and Tyrone,as for relegation I reckon Westmeath and Louth

Tyrone, Derry & Kildare will be favoured, I hope Meath will be in the mix and if they can get points from their first two games then a serious challenge could be mounted. Louth & Westmeath may struggle alright but overall it's a tough division thats hard to call with early points all important

Best two teams in it are Kildare and Meath. Kildare are notorious for heavy work at this time of the year which may count against them. Between Meath, Derry and Tyrone for me.

I think it may be easier to select the teams likely to get relegated than promoted as I think West Meath and Louth will really struggle. Meath and Kildare seem to be satisfied with staying in division 2, Kildare played Tyrone in the league last year and were easily the worst side we played all year (as other posters have said they seem to target later in the year). So i think it will be between 4 teams, Monaghan and Galway both came down from division 1 and are strong enough outfits, Derry are traditionally strong in the league but despite Conways's rescinded red card need to improve their discipline.

Tyrone are a bit of a mixed bag so far this year. Brutal in the first half of most of their McKenna cup matches (except Fermanagh) and some excellent play in the second half. They still lack enough size in their middle 8/9, Peter Harte is an exceptional footballer but is he a centre half back. 3 first choice midfielders injured. Will be interesting to see how McMahon and Murphy get on. Tonight's game will be interesting as it may tell us how serious Kildare are taking the league and how far Tyrone are on.

On the basis that Tyrone have four home games after tonight and only 2 away then I would go for Tyrone and Derry.

Peter Harte has been excellent so far this season in chb. If he keeps up his form he could push tyrone onto great things this year.

Meath are the same, tend to train very hard this time of year and without the football,I think Kildare and Meath are the best two teams in the division, but it's the league not the championship,Kildare are a better side than Meath so I would give them a chance of going up,but can see Tyrone and Derry been more serious in the league.

James Conway got his red card overturned shows some common sense by the ccc but the ref should be reprimanded for his blunder ruined the game as a contest, its between tyrone kildare derry meath/galway for promotion this weekend should see what mindset each team have and there intent.

Im not sure 93,its a very strong division 2 group.i would say that yourselves,Kildare,Tyrone and Meath are all stronger than us at the moment, and if we make a few slip ups we could easily be fighting relegation again.Dont forget Mulholland is bringing a very young team up north to ye.

Tyrone where terrific tonight against Kildare, deserving winners, Mulligan man of the match, great footballer, but Kildare need a scorer, and less of the hand passing.

As I said Tyrone would beat Kildare and any team put in front of them in the league. Have the doubters been converted now.....I hate being right
