In fairness I don't think he has the time, he is very busy attending all Kerry games. :-)

Dissapointing action by the CCCC on this one.

The team who starts the incident get three players suspended and a 2000 euro fine.
But the team from tyrone who started nothing get 6 players banned (set to miss the biggest game of there life's) and a 5000 euro fine.

Seems a very unfair punishement on Derrytresk before the biggest game the club will ever be involved in.

Once again the guilty team get of handier and once again the guilty team is from the south. Typical.

Dromid did'nt "start" any incident.Derrytresk started an incident by leaping over hordings and walls(supporters and substitutes) to attack other individuals.A dromid player BEFORE this incident struck a Derrytresk mentor (who man-handled him) and I hope that he was one of the dromid players banned because he deserves it.

Countless people have lost their lives at a soccer match in Egypt when violence flared up between rival fans tonight.Puts this whole thing into perspective for all of us I think.

Will there be assault charges to follow this up ?.

Some of the assaults shown on Crimeline last night were nowhere as serious as those which took place at the game this thread is dedicated too.

Stop making this North v South. Kerry have had their fair share of trial by "media" too over the past few years. Suggesting doing a lap around Kerry is a childish comment. We're not all anti-Tyrone or anti-North here in Kerry. I regularly visit the North and as Billy Keane stated in his column last weekend, I've also been "overwhelmed by Tyrone friendship and hospitality".

The CCCC has made their decision, i'm just disappointed that they couldn't start the year in a consistent manner and give Diarmaid Connolly what he deserves.

Disagree. From how i see it - Dromid got 3players on the field banned, Derrytresk 2. The other 6 Derrytresk players are obviously the 6 guys who jumped the hoarding.

Do the crime, serve the time lads!

So Derrytresk will only be missing 2 starters for the final..

As well as eight suspensions, they have also been fined €5,000 in comparison to €2,000 for Dromid.

Looks like the CCCC got the GBP/EUR FX rate backwards.
I'm sure Derrytresk can appeal on those grounds

I think both teams should accept the punishment handed out, which seems a lot fairer than the media coverage. The only doubt I have is the financial penalty, will it serve much purpose? especially in these hard-up times.

Are you saying that Derrytresk were not guilty. I wasn't at the game but from the footage I seen BOTH teams were guilty!! I also don't know as to what players were suspended but I assume the extra suspensions handed to Derrytresk were for the Derrytresk hurdlers and they can have no complaints if it was!! I have to agree with other comments here that if a sub did jump the fence but did not strike anybody it will be a hard pill to swallow when you see what Diarmaid Connolly got off with against Kildare!!

Both clubs were in the wrong and both clubs should be punished, who started it or didn't start it is mostly irrelevant, the fact is that players and or fans from both sides participated. These sanctions on both clubs are far too harsh for the crime, it was after all a fairly minor scuffle. The GAA should not be punishing whole communities for the actions of a few and I do not agree with clubs being fined in this way as it just removes vital money from clubs that badly need it and prevents them from providing GAA activities and facilities to the community. I believe the CCCC were swayed by the media and this is wholly unfair on both clubs, I would like to know how this compares to similar or worse incidents across the country and beyond for example what sanctions were imposed on Meath and Mayo after the 1996 All Ireland Football Final!

dan breen also did you see in billy keanes article about people in straw houses shouldnt lit fires??? maybe ALL counties should take note, no county is free from this kind of thing happening in club games and really are not in a position to grab any sort of moral high ground!!

Imagine if the CCCC had been involved with the Carickmore/Dromore match, what level of bans and fines would be handed out

Given some of the schmozzles in Newtown and Donagh I don't think that you are in a position to take shots at anyone. Along with this did your own outfit not try and take lumps out of our young fellas a couple of years back in a friendly and got their fill of it as well as getting humped in the Ulster league a few months later?

Dromid seeking legal advice, I was neutral on the matter but now I have no respect for them whatsoever. Grow up and get on with promoting our games and quit being such bad losers and so childish.
