Leinster club SHC final
O'Loughlin Gaels (Kilkenny) v Cuala (Dublin), O'Moore Park, 2pm

All roads lead to Portlaoise on Sunday as Cuala battle it out with O'Loughlin Gaels for the Leinster club senior hurling championship title.

Slight favourites at 5/6, the Dublin champions are on a mission to go one better than last year's provincial final defeat to Oulart-The Ballagh and capture their first Leinster crown in the process. Expect them to try and hit the ground running too, after a flat first-half performance this time 12 months ago ended up costing them dearly.

The Dalkey club dismantled St Mullins of Carlow last time out and had David Treacy, Sean Treacy and Con O'Callaghan combining for 1-13 of their 1-19 tally over the hour. That trio, along with Mark Schutte, will take some watching from O'Loughlin Gaels' backs at O'Moore Park on Sunday.

The Brian Hogan-captained Gaels had splendid displays from Mark Bergin (1-8) and Martin Comerford in their semi-final win over Oulart at Wexford Park last month and also have colossal experience at the back in the form of seven-time All-Ireland winner Hogan, who lifted his fourth county title with the St John's parish club in October.

The veteran centre-back will need his supporting cast to step up to the plate this weekend however - as the champions from 2010 go in search of a third provincial win - with Cuala possessing a wealth of talent up front which would be the envy of any club side in the country.

Verdict: Cuala
