If Bryan Sheehan is to line out between the posts against Dublin, Eamonn Fitzmaurice would want to let him know pretty soon.

Rumours are rife that Fitzmaurice is planning to spring a surprise by handing the dead ball specialist the number one jersey for the eagerly anticipated penultimate stage clash but, speaking to The Irish Independent, the Kingdom captain revealed: "I have not trained in goals.

"Eamonn hasn't spoken to me yet and he has only three more sessions to tell me."

The manager pointed out that "he has played in goals in the past" but, significantly perhaps, added: "It's Kerry and it's the time of the year so there's always going to be these stories out there - some of it true, some of it not. The team isn't picked yet. We're trying a few things."

Meanwhile, Fitzmaurice confirmed that Colm Cooper is in the frame following the collar-bone injury he sustained in the Munster final defeat of Tipperary.

"He was back doing contact before the quarter-final. We could have risked him and we decided not to.

"He's good. By the time the game comes around, he's going to have a full four or five weeks under his belt."
